Will I be safe? What will you do to make sure that I don’t catch the Corona virus when I come to your class?
We know that the COVID19 virus is a serious threat to your health if you catch it. We are taking our responsibility to help you avoid getting the disease very seriously. I will interview each person coming to the class on the phone the day before the class. I’ll be checking to see if you have any of the symptoms of the disease, and ask if you have been to any location or near any people who may have become infected. It will save us time if you have given some thought to those issues before our conversation.
We are carefully following the CDC (Center for Disease Control) re-opening guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, businesses, schools, and homes.
Every surface you can touch at our Training Center (in my home in Beaverton) has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be available in the training room and in the rest room. After using the rest room, please wipe down any surfaces you have touched, discard the wipe, and wash your hands before you leave.
We have a seven person maximum attendance for each class to ensure that we can maintain “social” (we call it “safety”) distancing while you are attending our class. We ask that you make a conscious effort to maintain a minimum of six feet distance between you and others in the class.
We will require that every person attending our class wear a face mask while you are in the training center. You are welcome to remove your mask when outside while continuing to maintain safety distancing at all times. If you do not have a face mask, we will be glad to give you a disposable mask at no cost.
Finally, my name is Jim, and I will be teaching your class. I’ve been teaching this class for 15 years. I’m an old guy, and in one of my former lives I was a microbiologist, with a Masters degree in microbiology and biochemistry. My specialty was microbial contamination control. You are unlikely to catch any disease at my house.
